imperial logistics Acquisition of Kings to widen reach

Imperial Logistics, part of the listed Imperial Holdings group, has acquired a majority stake in load consolidation business Kings Transport for an undisclosed amount. Marius Swanepoel, the chief executive of Imperial Logistics, said yesterday that the acquisition strengthened Imperial’s ability to service customers who moved less than full-truck loads from source to market. Kings Transport services a diverse range of customers from blue-chip brands to home-based businesses and moves loads ranging in size from 500kg to 32 tons. Wendy Goetze, the managing director of Kings Transport, said by becoming part of the Imperial family, it would be able to strengthen its value proposition by offering customers an end-to-end logistics solution.
