A decade fight nets 10% for Transnet retirees

The Transnet Second Defined Benefit Fund (TSDBF) paid a 10 percent ad hoc bonus to its 65 000 members last month. This comes after a 10-year fight to improve the benefits of pensioners, mainly from the old South African Railways, whose yearly increases have been pegged at 2 percent – way below inflation – since retiring.
