Maize up 60% since March, still rising

Maize prices have risen dramatically over the course of the year for a number of reasons, according to Jan Theron, the head of the FNB grain hub. Last week the spot price for yellow maize rose to R2 674 a ton compared with R1 640 in March, while white maize has gone to R2 498 from R1 588. Source
