Nigeria: Truncating Democracy in the South East?
Leadership (Abuja)-The strike and protests jointly spearheaded by the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC), the Trade Union Congress (TUC) and civil society organisations against the removal of subsidy on fuel enjoyed the support of most Nigerians and was adjudged reasonably successful. But what baffled some was the apathy the crisis attracted in the South East, where the actions against the federal government's policy were perceived to be a total failure. Source
