Kenya: Government Asks Hassan Omar to Quit Commission

GOVERNMENT spokesperson yesterday launched a campaign to have the Kenya National Commission on Human Rights commissioner Hassan Omar resign over alleged hate speech. Dr Alfred Mutua said Omar had violated the Integrity chapter by writing an opinion piece in one of the local dailies that perpetuated tribal intolerance and for which he is being investigated by the National Cohesion and Integration Commission.
